Less is More

Don’t overdo it. Less is more

When writing that blog post, that press release, or any literary piece, always remember to avoid being complex. You may have many ideas, but there is absolutely no reason to fit it all in one piece. Here are some tips for crisp, clean writing:

Use simple words.

It’s no fun having to Google every two words in an article. That’s a big turn off to your readers. This is not the space to impress or convince persons that you know words.

Don’t use jargons.

You may know what you mean. Your peers may know what you mean, but you’re not only writing for your circle. Use terms that the average person can understand.

Use short sentences

This not only helps with the clarity but the overall readability of your work. The aim is to keep your readers engaged. Long sentences are a lot to digest all at once. You may lose your readers halfway through.

And finally, Get to the point

Stories and examples are great, but they should add to your work, not take away from it. Just say what you want to say. Try to stay on course and within context. Don’t go off on a tangent.

We know you have much to say, but save some for later. Not only will you avoid overwhelming your readers but you’ll have content for another piece of work.
